The works of Cao Jingping are imbued with the philosophical tradition of Daoism and Confucianism and display the notion of the Oriental Zen. His paintings also reflect the intellectual concern of a contemporary Chinese artist for his country's traditional art.
"The yearnings for springs and woods, the companionship of mist and morning rays, are like dreams and beyond the perception of senses. Now, thanks to ingenious hands, springs and ravines are brought before the eyes, and one does not even have to step out of the hall.
